Cookie policy
The marketing site sets nothing until you ask it to. Here is the full list, including the browser storage that technically isn't a cookie but deserves the same honesty.
The short version
Reading duckears.com sets no cookies at all. Joining the waitlist writes a single entry to your browser’s local storage so the form remembers you. Everything else only comes into play once you sign in to the application.
What we use
| Name | Type | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| duckears:waitlist Essential | Local storage | Remembers that you already joined the waitlist so the form shows your confirmation instead of an empty field. | Until you clear site data |
| Session cookie Essential | Cookie | Keeps you signed in to the application. Set only after you log in. | Session, or 30 days if you choose to stay signed in |
| CSRF token Essential | Cookie | Protects forms against cross-site request forgery. | Session |
| Product analytics Optional — consent required | Cookie / local storage | Aggregate, privacy-preserving usage counts so we can see which screens people abandon. | Up to 12 months |
Advertising
We do not run advertising cookies, third-party trackers or cross-site pixels. If that ever changes we will ask for your consent first and update this page before the change ships.
Turning things off
Optional cookies are off until you accept them, and you can change your mind from the cookie settings in the application footer. Every browser also lets you block or clear cookies and site data directly — blocking the essential ones will sign you out and break parts of the app.
